Humanities Journey

In life, everyone has their personal quirk. Some discover their quirks at a young age, and manifest it to something much stronger. Others won’t have any clue about their secret passions until their old and well, passing. While hobbies are intimate and a self-satisfactory thing, some use their strengths to reach out. Their compassion enables them to stretch out their hand and share their beneficiary presence to the world. Their actions were the first steps towards humanity.

And us? Well, our journey starts much sooner, thankfully.

We were always emotional. Three kids, feeling over the smallest yet justified things. May it be with empathy for that old man, or just wishing that they could do more than pick up trash at the park. At that point, words were seldom enough. We had to take action. So, in our sophomore year of high school, we did. Our own journey began with the Youthorpha Initiative. Youthorpha is a youth-led non-profit organization. Our essential goal is to provide relief for orphans around the world who live in poverty.

Due to humanitarian issues such as war, parental worklessness or health poverty, many children (predominantly in third world countries) are left without support. Unfortunately, 5,700 children every day become orphans, with poverty being the leading cause. Additionally, 80% of children in orphanages are abandoned due to circumstances that are not within the child's control (disabilities and discrimination). The situation leaves us restless, and we yearn to do something about it. Youthorpha is an initiative dedicated to aiding the children who do not deserve the tragedy fallen upon them.

We created this organization with the sole purpose of a will to fight in any way possible. By building our local foundation, we hope to reach those children on a foreseeable international scale. Youthorpha believes that humanity can become something to be proud of. We hope like-minded individuals can make the world a better place for the children of tomorrow.

The hobbies that have accumulated over time are now sprouting into something much more satisfying- for us, the world and for humanity.

The COVID-19 crisis in India has left an impact in the already affected communities. Children, mothers, villagers. The virus doesn’t discriminate. Our goal is to aid those where we can - leaving a mere paw print onto the playing field. The first fundraiser will be our long-term project. We are dedicated to the Indian orphanage in Champawat - a small district in Uttarakhand. We hope to reach our goal of donating $1500 worth of items for the Goods In Kind project. Youthorpha is confident that we can make it possible. By collecting money and creating care packages to ship to India, we are doing our part to make a difference. Essentially, we are encouraging others, and hopefully encouraging you.

Generally, the talented ones are those who get the kick out of things. In this case, the ones with the ball are those who use their resources to change the world. The resources, you ask? It’s their will. Their empathy. Their efforts, even if small.

By giving out your hand, those children will have a fighting chance to see what they should have seen from the beginning.

Hope.
