Youthorpha's Donation Project

Here at YouthOrpha, we believe every child deserves a life beyond the bare minimum, a chance for each child to achieve their dreams. Like every other person, everybody dreams. A cycle within one’s head that motivates them to push further, but there are always obstacles that stop them. Nothing comes that easy, but for some, necessities aren’t even at a hand-grasp for many individuals—the majority being children— as they are suffering from the lack of stability in life.

Why do we even bother to care? Our world is aware of orphans in poverty, but not all seem to acknowledge it. Don’t you ever sit down, and think, how grateful you are to have a roof over your head, clean water running out of your faucets, food on a table, electricity, and lighting to brighten your everyday lives, and even be able to read this blog on your device? Well, right now is a perfect time to reflect on your lives. Now think, there are children so young, suffering from poverty, the lack of necessities to live. Like them, we have no control over being born into this world, nor what situation is present in life, but we should be thankful for what we have.

Now that you’re aware, what is possible?

We came across the Indian Orphanage, they are an organization to aid the orphaned children in India from the growing poverty crisis in the country. Their initiative began in 1948 founded by Maxton Davis Strong and his wife, Shirley. “In the heart of every child is a hunger for home”, they say, but not just for food on a plate and a place to sleep. For safety and bonding of community. Every child deserves affection and care, which is most important to the Indian Orphanage - Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission—love is a must.

As the youth of our world, we are a family, and so is the Indian Orphanage. Children there grow in a community where love guides them all as they grow together year after year. They are not just a regular children’s home, they are a nearly self-sustaining organization; a working farm, a vibrant school, receiving no government assistance of any kind. This is all done on own will and initiative.

At this time, India is undergoing a substantial COVID-19 crisis with the ridiculous growth of variants. Can you imagine the children who are not under protection, living in the open streets with no facilities to healthy living, surviving this dilemma? Unfortunately, it is hard to believe lone children suffering from poverty will keep body and soul together during this catastrophe. Have hope, we can change that with your help.

Through the Indian Orphanage, we plan to make donations for the children, aiding them throughout their lives. Being thoughtful of one’s well-being, in a sense, is a good deed for you to be proud of. You may be wondering, how can I help? It is simple, YouthOrpha has just begun, the start of another mindful non-profit youth-led organization anticipating to make life better for orphans in poverty. We would like to contribute to their organization by creating care packages of needed supplies for the Indian Orphanage Goods in Kind Project through your goods and donations. If you wish to help and do not have anything to donate, spreading the word is the least you could do. Lend us a helping hand, and your will along our journey. This is only the beginning. A little goes a long way.

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”—Theodore Roosevelt.
